Work in Progress
Here's some of the projects I'm working on right now.
Mental Wellness, Diary Study
In my HCI Concepts class, I'm working on a team of four to design an application that helps college student track and maintain their mental wellness. To learn more about the subject and our users, we are conducting three types of research: two interviews with mental health counselors on campus, four 3-day diary studies with college students, and a survey (with 50+ respondents). What we learn now will have a major effect on our application design.
HCDE Alternative Spring Break
During spring break this year, I'm going with six other HCDE students to a middle school on a Native American reservation in Neah Bay, WA. We will be there to lead a Design Thinking workshop for the middle schoolers. This quarter, my team is planning the week-long workshop and conducting several pilot workshops in the Seattle area. This is the first time HCDE is leading this program. I will also be running a blog about the process of our workshop design, which I will link here.
Dew: Operating System & Apps
In my Mobile App Design class, I am working on a team of 6 Info/HCDE students to design a new operating system (unlike IOS or Android) and all of the necessary apps (calendar, calculator, dialer, mail, etc). This includes designing every bit of the operating system, from the hardware it works on the the breadcrumbs in the UI Kit. By the end of the quarter, we will have designed about 15 apps.
