Hi there! I'm currently designing at Athleta, part of Gap Inc, focusing on designing community features dedicated to fostering female wellbeing. Previously I was desgning in the healthcare space over at Harmonize Inc.
I have a degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering with a concentration in human-computer interaction (HCI) from the University of Washington. I love discussing the program I was in, so feel free to ask me any questions!
As you look at my work, you'll see I employ design thinking and use a highly principled design process. I also love visual design and fiddling around with compositions until I find something really pleasing.
K-12 Outreach
One of my passions is design education for young students. During my senior year at UW, I was heavily involved in K-12 outreach for Human Centered Design & Engineering.
Many young students never hear about human centered design or see women in tech. I was part of several teams leading workshops at middle schools on human centered design. At my graduation ceremony, I was awarded alongside my Alternative Spring Break team for community service.
Study Abroad in Amsterdam
In summer 2016, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Amsterdam for 3 months.
My program was focused on Design & Society in the Netherlands with a focus on speculative design. This was a fascinating subject, as Amsterdam is an entirely designed city and the country has a rich history. We travelled to different artists and designers around the country to study their work.
